Bamboo Hut Construction

Bamboo Huts I slept in on my trek in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where we stayed with a hillside tribe.

Interesting construction, economical, easy to erect and has aesthetical value. However, can't really say it kept us completely dry when heavy rain hit during the night and sprayed us through the walls!

Working With a Planner

Finished my week of work experience with a planner. Hatched lots of drawings for him, drew out site plans and filled out many planning application forms. Went on a site visit to a nearly completed residential build, where we met the planning officer. The meeting consisted of us walking around the house and checking that everything abided by the regulations, and then how to get around it if it did not.

It was interesting seeing how this all worked along side the architect and understanding the coordination of people throughout a project.
